November 20th; we participated in the state DAY Of ACTION with our other 7 state colleges in NJ. We had a Billboard Petition Signing at Rowan University Main Campus in Glassboro and at CMSRU.
Our DAY OF ACTION was supported by the local press:
- Interviews were conducted with KYW NewsRadio Dave Madden from Philadelphia with Joe Basso. (Article)
- The South Jersey Times reporter Mackenzie Fitchett interviewed Joe Basso, Chuck Linderman, and Lori Block. (Article)
- The Rowan University Whit reporter interviewed Jonathan Foglein and Lori Block. CMSRU even produced a Youtube video of their Day of Action. (Video)
Volunteers from AFT Philly and UAP Philly were on hand to provide assistance; Katie Dalby and Shannon Sullivan from AFT Philly and Zoe Cohen and Jannah Roe from UAP Philly.
Office on the Go was also a part of the event. Thank you to Joyce Sholtz for holding down the table all day until 4 pm getting members to recommit and recruiting new members.
It was not only a successful day in terms that administration knew we were holding a type of demonstration on campus regarding our lack of contract, but activities like these bring us together as a union of professionals.
